Position Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for controlling access to the Primex Farms facility and overseeing the activities of the security team to ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, contractors, company assets, and facilities. This position supervises security personnel, enforces company policies, investigates incidents, monitors security systems, and coordinates emergency response activities while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

Essential Functions

• Schedule and supervise security guards to ensure adequate facility coverage.
• Develop, update, and implement security post orders and procedures.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate security officers on security policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits and inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities to identify security risks.
• Monitor alarm systems, access controls, and internal and external security cameras.
• Ensure all security incidents and events are properly documented and reported.
• Coordinate with Human Resources and Plant Management regarding security matters.
• Develop and support emergency response, disaster recovery, evacuation, and workplace violence prevention plans.
• Investigate incidents, suspicious activities, safety concerns, and security breaches.
• Maintain visitor, guest, and contractor logs and provide required GMP information.
• Log all inbound and outbound commercial truck traffic.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, GMP requirements, and security standards.
• Communicate effectively with employees, visitors, contractors, law enforcement, and management.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of security, law enforcement, or military security experience required.
• Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in a related field required.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

• Ability to prepare professional written reports and investigations.
• Knowledge of security systems, surveillance equipment, alarms, and emergency response procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and self-control in stressful situations.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.

Work Environment

• Food manufacturing and pistachio processing facility.
• Indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, moving vehicles, and machinery.
• Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and truck drivers.
• May respond to emergency situations and security incidents.
• Must comply with all company safety, food safety, and security policies.
