- Provide supplemental, in-person tutoring/academic assistance in the student's area or areas of greatest need.
- Use differentiated instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs, helping them grasp challenging concepts.
- Collaborate with the student's teacher concerning student academic needs, strengths, and weaknesses and how best to meet the student's needs.
- Engage students in appropriate academic activities.
- Help students develop strong study skills.
- Establish and maintain rapport with students.
- Maintain records of student progress.
- Provide evaluations and other reports as requested by the Title I Department.
- Participate in scheduled meetings.
- Monitor progress and analyze data to tailor instruction based on the students' specific needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate. (May qualify with an expired teaching certificate.)
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. Must be able to be present at the physical worksite.
- Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills are essential factors in performing essential tasks.
