Independently Licensed Clinician Position

Amigos on the Spectrum is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled independently licensed mental health professional to join our team and provide individual psychotherapy to a primarily Autistic population.

This opportunity is ideal for a clinician who wants to build or expand a meaningful clinical caseload while working within a collaborative therapeutic environment that integrates individual therapy, group therapy, diagnostic evaluations, and real-world social immersion experiences .

About the Role

The primary focus of this position is to provide individual psychotherapy tailored to the clinical needs, goals, and lived experiences of each client. Our clinicians work with clients to address emotional, behavioral, relational, and psychological concerns while helping them apply skills developed across the broader Amigos on the Spectrum programming model.

Individual therapy may include supporting clients with:

• Anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns

• Emotional regulation and coping skills

• Executive functioning and organization

• Social communication and interpersonal relationships

• Problem-solving and decision-making

• Self-advocacy and independence

• Life transitions and personal development

• Relationship challenges

• Navigating social expectations and real-world situations

• Applying executive functioning and social skills developed through group therapy

• Processing and generalizing experiences from social immersion activities

A key component of this role is helping clients connect the skills they develop in group therapy and through social immersion experiences to their everyday lives. Clinicians may help clients process challenges they encounter in the community, develop strategies for navigating social situations, and build confidence in applying therapeutic skills outside the office.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an independently licensed clinician who is passionate about providing thoughtful, individualized care to Autistic and Neurodivergent individuals.

Qualified applicants may include:

• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)

• Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD)

• Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT)

The ideal candidate is:

• Independently licensed and eligible to practice in Ohio

• Comfortable providing individual psychotherapy

• Interested in working primarily with Autistic and Neurodivergent individuals

• Neurodiversity-affirming and committed to individualized, client-centered care

• Comfortable addressing both traditional clinical concerns and the practical challenges of daily life

• Interested in helping clients generalize skills from therapy into real-world settings

• Able to collaborate with other clinicians and program staff

• Comfortable working with clients across a range of ages, abilities, and support needs

• Motivated to grow professionally and develop a meaningful clinical caseload

Compensation and Expectations

This position offers the opportunity to develop a meaningful individual therapy caseload within a collaborative practice environment. Compensation, scheduling, and caseload structure will be discussed based on licensure, experience, availability, and practice needs.
