About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel/Director, Commercial Counsel to play a pivotal role in the legal aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the Infrastructure & Facilities Team and other executive and ownership teams, providing legal guidance on high-visibility, high-impact development projects. This includes all legal matters related to acquiring and leasing land, building and renovating facilities, and developing transportation infrastructure. The role also involves supporting the procurement of equipment, goods, and services necessary for the use of these facilities. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 7 years of post-JD experience, with a preference for those who have a proven track record in driving large-scale real estate, infrastructure, or construction projects. Key responsibilities for this role at the company include leading legal strategy and execution for infrastructure projects, drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, advising on land use and permitting, and managing commercial disputes. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent contract negotiation, drafting, and project management skills, who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The candidate should be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to manage complex legal matters and work effectively with cross-functional teams. In-house experience and a background in a top law firm are preferred, as is a strong ability to consider the business implications of legal advice and to manage legal risks in a commercial setting.
