Veterinary Technician, ICU

The Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty in Bowie, MD is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team on the overnight shift! 
Sign- on bonus offered for qualified Registered Veterinary Technicians! 

Compensation: $26- 30+/hr (based on experience & skill set) PLUS a 10% overnight shift differential 
Schedule:  

• 3/12- Hour Shifts per week
• Overnights
• Weekends, Holidays, and On- Call as needed

Requirements:  

• Shares our commitment to our mission, vision, and values.
• Minimum of 2 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred but not required)
• Demonstrated excellence in nursing care and critical thinking skills 
• Strong desire to learn and grow in the role. 
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. 

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in calculating doses and administering intravenous drugs and fluids 
• Capable of monitoring patients under anesthesia (ventilator experience is a plus!) 
• Skilled in obtaining and analyzing laboratory samples (blood, urine, and stool) 
• Expertise in interpreting meows, barks, and chirps—telepathic skills are a plus! 
• Experience in catheter placement 
• Possesses the stamina of an athlete to keep up with lively kitties and energetic puppies 
• Strong time management, initiative, and task prioritization skills 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation is based on experience and skill level ranging from $26.00 - 30.00+/ hr
