THEY NEED A TECHNICIAN. We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Road Service Technician who can bring the diagnosis, tools, and repair directly to the customer. You’ll work on: Heavy-Duty Trucks Trailers Motor Coaches Heavy Equipment Gas & Diesel-Powered Commercial Vehicles From emergency roadside repairs to advanced diagnostics and major mechanical work, you’ll be the technician customers count on when their equipment stops moving. You’ll arrive on scene, assess the situation, run diagnostics, determine what failed, source what you need, make the repair when possible, and get the customer moving again. That takes more than knowing how to turn a wrench. It takes confidence, judgment, resourcefulness, and the ability to think on your feet. What You’ll Do Perform emergency roadside assistance, diagnostics, service, and repairs Diagnose and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, motor coaches, and equipment Perform brake repairs and service Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems Remove and install tires and related components Perform engine and powertrain repairs Handle advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting work Diagnose and repair A/C systems Diagnose and service emissions systems Source necessary parts when they aren’t immediately available in inventory Test-drive trucks, trailers, and equipment as needed to verify repairs Follow all applicable safety procedures while working roadside Process customer payments when required Handle customer concerns calmly, professionally, and efficiently Maintain constant communication with Dispatch, Parts Counter Specialists, and Management Submit documentation, receipts, invoices, and service paperwork promptly Keep your assigned service truck clean, organized, stocked, and professional Wash and maintain your truck during available downtime Report service-truck or equipment problems to management immediately Follow proper accident and incident procedures Maintain a clean and safe mobile workspace Assist with additional road-service needs as assigned What You Need To Bring Valid driver’s license Current DOT Medical Card High school diploma or GED Diesel engine repair training, certification, and/or applicable experience Advanced knowledge of gas and diesel engines Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical systems Strong understanding of electrical systems Proficiency with diesel diagnostic software Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Strong attention to detail Basic computer and electronics knowledge Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently in the field Ability to communicate effectively with Dispatch, Parts, Management, and customers We Especially Want To Talk If You Can Chase Electrical Problems Run Advanced Diagnostics Handle Brake Repairs Diagnose Engine & Powertrain Issues Troubleshoot A/C Systems Work Through Emissions Problems Work Confidently on Heavy-Duty Equipment Solve Problems Without Someone Standing Over Your Shoulder Keep Dispatch Updated Handle Customers Professionally YOU WORK INDEPENDENTLY. Dispatch Where are you? What did you find? How long will the repair take? Parts What failed? What do you need? Where can we get it? Management Is there a safety issue? Is the service truck ready? Does something need immediate attention? Customer What happened? Can it be repaired? What happens next? The best technicians don’t disappear once they leave the shop. THEY COMMUNICATE. ROADSIDE IS DIFFERENT. In a shop, you control the environment. On the road? THE ENVIRONMENT CONTROLS YOU. Heat. Cold. Rain. Darkness. Traffic. Tight spaces. Impatient customers. Unexpected problems.
