Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector performs final inspection of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies using a microscope, halo light, or similar magnification tools to ensure products meet all customer and company quality standards. Working under close supervision, this role supports manufacturing in achieving quality and delivery requirements in strict accordance with specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.

• Perform final inspection of PCB assemblies with or without a microscope, halo light, or similar magnification tools to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, PCB drawings, schematics, and bills of materials to confirm that assemblies meet all documented requirements.
• Apply workmanship and inspection practices in line with IPC or similar industry standards to ensure consistent product quality.
• Verify that PCB assemblies are built and compliant with customer drawings, specifications, and BOMs before release.
• Review drawings to ensure they are suitable for use and confirm that any redlined changes have proper authorization, approvals, and dates.
• Execute in-line quality protocols, final quality control processes, and incoming quality control (IQC) procedures as required.
• Follow production priorities established by operations and production leadership, and test products according to assigned work orders and special instructions.
• Perform first article inspections, including completion of AS9102 documentation when required.
• Adhere to all company and departmental processes and procedures throughout the inspection workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in alignment with company policies.
• Coordinate and prioritize inspection tasks to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Multitask across different products and inspection activities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve quality issues, clarify requirements, and support continuous improvement.
• Consistently achieve defined productivity levels on all products processed and demonstrate the ability to run product independently for extended periods.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials during all inspection and documentation activities.

• Experience with inspection and quality control in a manufacturing environment, particularly involving PCB assemblies.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, PCB drawings, schematics, prints, and specifications.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform job duties and understand documentation.
• Strong visual acuity and ability to visually verify fine detail work on small components and assemblies.
• Ability to perform prolonged viewing of small parts through microscopes while seated for extended periods.
• Capability to understand and follow directions related to manufacturing flexible printed circuit boards.
• Demonstrated keen eye for detail with a proven record of quality and on-time production runs.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Consistent productivity and ability to process products independently for a sustained period.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a production environment.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and supporting quality-related discussions.

• Previous PCB experience and familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Experience with workmanship and inspection to IPC or similar industry standards.
• Exposure to first article inspection processes, including AS9102 documentation.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed manufacturing instructions and special work order requirements.
• Comfort using inspection apparatus such as microscopes, halo lights, and other magnification tools, with willingness to receive additional training.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information, documentation, and materials.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment such as smocks, gloves, and closed-toe shoes in accordance with company policy.

The work takes place in an engineered solutions facility focused on specialty components and subassemblies using advanced materials for high reliability, severe environments, and technically challenging applications. The organization develops and manufactures custom integrated solutions for industries such as semiconductor equipment manufacturing, medical and life science, aerospace and defense, industrial, electronics, and energy. The facility operates under ITAR requirements and primarily involves seated work with prolonged viewing of small parts via microscopes and other magnification tools. Employees follow established safety and quality procedures, use personal protective equipment such as smocks, gloves, and closed-toe shoes, and work in a clean, organized production environment with strong emphasis on precision, documentation, and collaboration across internal teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
