Work Study Position
This is a part-time, on average 10 hours per week, position. As a work study, assistance will be provided within Enrollment to college staff, prospective students, and peers. With confidentiality in mind, information will be shared with the correct parties and will work as a member of the team to increase coverage of the office as well as support the department in day-to-day tasks, prospective student visits, as well as other projects or initiatives.
Key competencies include:
- Proficient interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality, as defined by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) 34 CFR Part 99.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain office records and information.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of the college community and enrollment process.
- Ability to energetically engage with campus visitors and share positive student experiences and opportunities.
Primary responsibilities include:
- General administrative tasks such as:
- Filing and organization.
- Typing and note taking.
- Answering phones.
- Taking messages.
- Preparing mailing.
- Supervising the front desk.
- Preparing materials for events.
- Enrollment-specific tasks such as:
- Campus tours to prospective students.
Pay: $13.00 / hour.
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week between 8am and 4 pm. Off campus dates and times designated by your supervisor as needed. Subject to change without notice.
Education: Must be enrolled at Lackawanna College.
Experience: No experience requirement.
