Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments, injuries, disabilities, or movement dysfunctions. The PT develops individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, prevent disability, and enhance overall quality of life. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments to determine functional limitations and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, patient goals, and clinical findings.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, and other evidence-based interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to maximize outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, injury prevention, home exercise programs, and wellness strategies.
• Recommend and train patients on the use of assistive devices, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, state, federal, and accrediting agency standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, safety protocols, and rehabilitation best practices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current Physical Therapist license in the applicable state.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (if required by facility).
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based physical therapy practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, home health, skilled nursing, orthopedic, neurological, or sports medicine settings.
• Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
• Specialty certifications such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), Neurologic Clinical Specialist (Company), Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS), or Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS).
