Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 151016

Vaco Phoenix is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant for a top client in Tempe, AZ. This role will execute a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. This is a permanent position that is full onsite and paying up to 70k per year. Job Duties Include: Perform weekly bookkeeping to ensure accurate monthly financial records, including account reconciliations and month-end close. Prepare adjusting journal entries under the direction of the Controller. Assist in preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss (P&L) reports. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure financial accuracy. Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and respond to bank inquiries as needed. Assist with accounts payable by processing invoices and ensuring expenses are accurately coded to the appropriate accounts. Support inventory management and maintain accurate inventory records. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports. Using Controller-approved templates, prepare financial reports analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to support forecasting and budgeting. Maintain current knowledge of accepted accounting principles, policies, and financial reporting practices. The ideal candidate for this position: 3-4 years' experience in a staff accountant role or 1-2 years as a Senior Accountant Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - vlookups, pivot tables, Word, and Outlook) Experience working with ERP systems Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product Excellent written and oral communication skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
