In support of all Boston Scientific manufacturing sites and divisions, the Sourcing Specialist develops and executes category and sourcing strategies for off-the-shelf electronic components (ECOTS) that meet and exceed product quality, while achieving service and cost improvement targets. This role collaborates with divisional stakeholders to align on optimal sourcing strategies for new product development and leads a global category team of cross-functional partners to achieve objectives, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement that supports Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and applicable regulations. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.Your responsibilities will include:Establishing category strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantageManaging strategic supplier relationships in line with company and category expectationsSupporting negotiating and executing contracts that deliver the best outcomes Driving sustained year-over-year value improvement related to quality, service, and costDefining technology roadmaps that align with long-term product and patient needsCollaborating with supplier engineering to build a pipeline of value improvement projectsGathering and analyzing market intelligence to report on trends and sourcing risks; work with stakeholders to execute mitigation plansProviding source selection recommendations for new products that align with the category strategy; support to site materials teams as requiredEngaging suppliers early in the R&D process to meet development objectives and timelines while reducing costsVisiting supplier sites to facilitate business reviews, assessments and negotiationsSupporting and leading business process improvement projects Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 2 years of experience in sourcing and supply chain management, or supplier relationship management Experience with MS Office Excel and other applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.) Ability to travel up to 20% Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively.Experience sourcing for electronics or directly for a manufacturing line.
