Welder

Primary Accountability:

T he Welder will read and interpret work orders and blueprints to complete welding projects in a safe, quality and efficient manner. This position requires someone that is detail oriented with strong welding skills and the ability to complete routine to intricate projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Ensure sufficient tools and supplies are available to allow welding work to be performed efficiently.
• Set-up and operate welding equipment.
• Weld various materials using appropriate and approved welding procedures.
• Self-inspect quality of work product to ensure it meets IMI and Customer expectations.
• Attend company training programs and follow procedures as outlined in training.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees and department managers.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
• Ability to complete work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.

Physical Demands:

• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to fifty (50) pounds
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
• Use hands to handle, install, position, move and manipulate materials.

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to extreme cold and heat
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
• Moderate to high noise level
• Interaction with team members in a respectful manner
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Will work in other departments as needed.
