Registered Respiratory Therapist

Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high‑quality respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, implement physician-ordered and protocol-driven therapies, and continually evaluate patient responses to optimize outcomes.

Key responsibilities include administering oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene therapies, and non-invasive and invasive ventilatory support; managing, troubleshooting, and monitoring mechanical ventilators; performing arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation; and documenting all care accurately within the electronic health record. You will participate in rapid response and code blue situations, support patients in critical care, emergency, and medical-surgical units, and assist with patient transport while maintaining airway and ventilatory support.

You will educate patients and families on respiratory disease management, use and care of respiratory equipment, and inhaler and device technique, promoting self-management and improved quality of life.
