AS400 Developer with mainframe

About the role We are seeking a skilled Mainframe and AS400 Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications running on mainframe and IBM AS400/iSeries platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CL, RPG, and related legacy technologies, along with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and support business‑critical systems. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on mainframe and AS400 (preferred) environments. Write and support programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CL, RPG, and related tools. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Perform debugging, testing, and production support for existing systems. Work with batch jobs, file processing, and data integration processes. Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and infrastructure teams. Support system upgrades, performance tuning, and incident resolution. Document technical designs, code changes, and support procedures. Required Skills and Experience Strong hands‑on experience with mainframe technologies. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. Experience with IBM AS400/iSeries technologies preferred. Knowledge of batch processing, job scheduling, and file transfer processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in production support and development environments.
