Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Respiratory Therapist (RT) $15,000 sign‑on with a 2-year commitment. Schedule: Full‑time, Nights (Rotating weekends) Haywood Regional Medical Center is a 154‑bed acute hospital located in Clyde, North Carolina, offering a full range of services including general surgery, women's care, intensive care, and emergency services. How you'll contribute Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care, monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance, assessing patient condition and delivering appropriate treatment. Educates patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. Qualifications NC Registered Respiratory Therapist and graduate of a school of respiratory therapy. Credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NRBC) required (60‑day grace period for new graduates). Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire. Strong critical thinking, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
