Staff Bioinformatics Scientist

Abbott Cancer Diagnostics seeks a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist for its La Jolla location. Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of complex bioinformatics projects across multiple technology areas
- Independently develop algorithms and analyze experimental data to drive project outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior research and development scientists
- Manage and analyze bench-generated data within HPC or cloud computing environments
- Present findings and defend scientific ideas at meetings; identify process improvements
Requirements
- Advanced expertise in bioinformatics analysis and algorithm development
- Experience with high-performance computing or cloud computing environments
- Proven ability to independently design and execute complex experiments
- Strong technical communication and scientific writing skills
- Track record of mentoring junior scientists or engineers
- Knowledge of diagnostic assay product development processes
