Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, managing a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Care for patients with conditions including CHF, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias, as well as general surgery patients including colorectal, ostomy, plastic and cosmetic, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Float to other units as required
• Complete pre-start facility modules as assigned, recorded via facility report

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License – must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required – must include valid NIHSS documentation in submittal
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for cardiac patients including those with CHF, arrhythmias, and post-device implantation
• Experience in general surgery nursing including colorectal, ostomy, and reconstructive surgery populations
• Comfort working in high-volume, fast-paced inpatient environments
• Flexibility and prior experience floating between units
