Assistant General Counsel

Job Title: Assistant General Counsel Department: General Counsel Location: Macon, GA 31207 Responsibilities Assists the General Counsel in managing and performing legal services to the University across a broad range of areas including employment matters, contracts, corporate law, intellectual property, litigation management, employee and student‑related issues, compliance matters, healthcare law, immigration law, real estate law, higher education law, and research. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of legal experience as an attorney. Current Georgia law license and admission to the State Bar of Georgia. Superior oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to resolve complex and sensitive problems with professional discretion. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse community of stakeholders. Valid driver’s license and insurance coverage through the university’s carrier. Familiarity with Mercer University and the local Macon community is highly desirable.
