JOB SUMMARY:

The Infusion Nurse Practitioner serves as the clinical lead and provider, managing specialized intravenous therapies while overseeing patient safety and day-to-day clinic operations

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patient Care: Perform physical evaluations, record clinical notes, and supervise or administer complex IV infusions and injections.

• Reaction Management: Monitor patients for adverse reactions or toxicities and direct emergency response protocols.

• Care Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and referring physicians to plan ongoing treatments.

• Education: Counsel patients and families on disease management, treatment expectations, and side effects.

• Compliance: Maintain accurate records in electronic health records (EHR) while upholding safety and regulatory guidelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards.

• Ability to develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

• Proficient in using healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex clinical and administrative issues.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Education: Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted NP and RN state licenses, plus current prescriptive authority and a DEA registration.

• Certification: National board certification through the AANP or ANCC (Family Nurse Practitioner or specialty-focused).

• Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or PALS often required depending on the clinical environment.

• Skills: Advanced clinical assessment, strong venous access capabilities, and familiarity with infusion pumps and EHR software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day

• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk

• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY

• Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.

• Employees earn up to 10 PTO days each year, with rollover options and milestone bonuses.

• Employees have the option to cash out up to 10 PTO hours each quarter for added financial flexibility.

Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
