Position: HR Manager Company Name: AiLO Logistics Position Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: $90K - $110K Location: On-Site (Compton, CA 90222) Position Summary Human Resources Manager oversees the company’s most important asset: its people. The position has both a strategic and hands‑on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support for the operation of the companies. Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of HR functions, policies, and procedures. Having an accountable, proactive, trustworthy, level‑headed, and respectful person in this position is crucial. This person is also extremely detail‑oriented, responsible, strong communicator, good listener and must maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and responsibility. With vast expertise in employment practices, workplace culture, learning and development, and payroll activities, the Human Resources Manager leads the HR team that supports the entire lifecycle of our employees. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities Provide leadership for HR overall functions. Administer HR policies and programs to ensure compliance in employee relations, staffing, recruitment, and termination, training and development, benefits, compensation, time and attendance record keeping, and personnel records administration. Ensure a positive “open door” climate. Manage all aspects of the HR department including administration, legal compliance, policy and procedure enforcement. Provide regular HR reports upon the reporting lines and timely inform about HR developments that may impact overall effectiveness. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, government regulations and contractual obligations. Promote teamwork, collaboration, and coordination. Work with the Safety Department on recruitment and onboarding of employees including the selection and hiring process. Conduct background check of employees being recruited. Instruct managers on discipline procedures. Properly document all the steps leading to termination of an employee. Conduct exit interviews. Administer all company benefits. Plan and conduct training courses of employees’ development initiatives ensuring a direct link to the business strategy. Manage workers compensation cases. Record and track employee injury data as required by OSHA. Process payroll. Address claims relating to labor standards. Manage the entire personnel filing. Plan and implement employee events, including social events. Facilitate the Performance Management process completing performance reviews. Track and process employee time off, vacation and sick time. Process garnishments and child support orders. Update Employee Handbooks and policy guides according to the state and federal legislative modifications. Create a positive employee relations atmosphere. Communicate in a manner designed to minimize conflict and foster a positive relationship between management and associates. Strive to effectively solve problems for the mutual benefit of the company and its associates achieving effective conflict resolution. Accountable for programs to promote retention. Maintain a strong commitment to continuous company culture development and sustaining the business. Perform other duties as required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Required Skills and Competencies Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization. Strategic thinker with an ability to translate plans into action. Demonstrated leadership, coaching and influencing skills. Proven track record in the broad HR knowledge in federal and state employment laws, benefits, compensation, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, policy creation/implementation, recruiting, retention and conflict resolution, etc. Ability to develop a high level of personal credibility and trust at all levels. Demonstrated success resolving employee issues in an “open door” environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and be comfortable with high volume workload. Ability to provide management with proactive ideas on creating and maintaining a positive employee relations climate. Ability to understand complex issues, identify opportunities, and recommend appropriate solutions. Meeting deadlines with accuracy. Strong team player with positive, optimistic solutions-oriented approach. Strong benefits knowledge. Strong customer service mentality. Extremely ethical and capable of honoring commitments. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google, Website administration, and Payroll. Experience & Qualifications 5 + years of relevant experience in Human Resources. 3 + years of relevant full payroll processing with ADP Workforce Now. Bachelor’s degree in business administration with HR or Management emphasis or related field. In lieu of bachelor’s degree would require 2 more years of HR or related management experience. Transportation industry experience preferred. Prevailing wage experience desired. HR Certification (SPHR or GPHR) desired. Compensation The base pay is competitive, depending on experience ($90,000 - $110,000) and will be discussed during an in‑person interview.
