Director, Portfolio Management and Supplier Strategy

Director-level position leading supplier strategy and portfolio management for Production Chemicals and Services at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Builds differentiated supplier ecosystem while developing strategies to improve profitability, supply resilience, and support business growth objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute supplier strategy aligned to growth, profitability, customer needs, and supply continuity
• Establish supplier segmentation models and differentiated engagement approaches for various supplier tiers
• Assess portfolio performance and identify gaps, white-space opportunities, and category expansion possibilities
• Build and lead team of Supplier Strategy Specialists while coaching on category analysis and executive engagement
• Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Bioproduction Services leadership on growth initiatives and strategic opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, life sciences, chemistry, or engineering
• 10+ years progressive experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management
• 5+ years leading and developing teams with demonstrated success
• Experience developing supplier or category strategies in complex global organizations
• Track record leading strategic supplier relationships, negotiations, and joint business planning
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
