Key Responsibilities

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, goals, and physician recommendations, ensuring they are tailored to enhance movement and function.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic and prognostic methods to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities of clients.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, educate clients on their rehabilitation program, and motivate them to achieve their goals in a supportive manner.
• Oversee the activities of physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and providing guidance as needed.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and techniques as necessary to reflect changes in patient condition or response.
• Administer physical modalities such as traction and massage to relieve pain and improve functional abilities.
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and reports, to comply with legal and accreditation standards.
• Engage in regular case conferences with the interdisciplinary team to ensure alignment in client care and share insights regarding treatment progress.
• Educate patients and their families on the use of rehabilitation aids and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent future injuries.
• Stay informed on best practices in the field by participating in continuing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current and valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in an outpatient or home care setting.
