About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Valid RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 180 days of hire), TNCC (within 180 days of hire), NIHSS (within 90 days of hire) Must-Have: Charge experience, patient ratio experience, charting system experience, preferably Epic Description: Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family and support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communication. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience. Weekend requirement includes every other Saturday and Sunday, along with holidays as needed. Skills required include arterial line management, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, and continuous IV sedation. Additional skills include management of dysrhythmias, interpretation of arterial blood gases, starting and maintaining IVs, and monitoring through various specialized equipment. Candidates will be responsible for a patient ratio of 2:1 during the day and night shifts. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Daily census averages 40 patients, and the unit consists of 44 beds.
