Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (12-Hour Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected weekend rotation of at least 2 weekends per month (subject to change based on unit needs); weekend nights are Friday and Saturday (Sunday is not considered a weekend night for this shift)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an intermediate/PCU/stepdown setting within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital (34-bed unit)
• Manage a high volume of post-cath lab patients including TR band management and stent placement post-procedure care; perform q15-minute checks on fresh cath patients (no sheaths, no art lines)
• Perform and monitor titratable drip management including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Care for a diverse patient population including general medical, cardiac (CHF, MI, afib with RVR, NSTEMI, chest pain, PCI pre/post), and oncology diagnoses (chemo administration not required unless specifically noted)
• Perform trach care, chest tube management, central line maintenance, and BiPAP/high-flow O2 monitoring
• Float within scope throughout the hospital as needed; document using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of total RN experience, including a minimum of 1 year in PCU
• Must be proficient in reading, interpreting, and measuring cardiac rhythms; must be comfortable caring for cardiac patients and managing patients on BiPAP and high-flow O2

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Spanish language proficiency strongly valued given a high Spanish-speaking patient population (approximately 30%)
• Experience with oncology patient populations (leukemia, neutropenia, etc.)
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with experience serving underserved or charity care populations
• Familiarity with cath lab procedures including stent placements and TR band management
