Job Summary:
The Kansas City, Missouri-based Progress Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing specialized nursing care within a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown setting. The role requires delivering patient-centered care, monitoring cardiac rhythms, managing complex medical equipment, and responding to emergency situations. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment. This position offers an opportunity for qualified RNs to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on cardiovascular, neurological, and surgical patient populations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 2 years of nursing experience, including Pacemaker (PCA), Central Line Care, Blood Product Administration, Heparin Protocols, Dysrhythmia Interpretation, Use of Rapid Response Teams, and Telemetry monitoring; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in charge nurse roles and in teaching hospitals; Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system experience; 5 years of patient care experience; experience working in community hospital settings.
• Float: Regular floating across departments, units, and facilities as needed, within scope of practice.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing a variety of clinical procedures including cardiac monitoring, infusion management, tracheostomy care, wound care, and emergency response procedures. Clinicians will work in a unit with a daily census of 31 adult and geriatric patients and must complete required compliance modules prior to start date.
