Job Description
The VMI Coordinator I will support inventory and material management activities at customer locations. The role involves delivering and stocking materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, loading vending machines and cabinets, scanning products, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available at designated point-of-use (POU) areas. The position requires strong reliability, attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to perform hands-on warehouse and inventory tasks.


Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and set up inventory at designated customer locations.
• Stock cabinets, vending machines, and point-of-use areas.
• Verify shipment quantities and accuracy against customer orders.
• Pick up materials from the Vallen warehouse/DC and deliver them to customer sites.
• Scan barcodes and generate customer orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor min/max and reorder points.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
• Identify inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to management.
• Take customer spot-buy orders and relay information to the appropriate team.
• Maintain current and legible barcode labels.
• Recommend inventory-level adjustments based on customer usage.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe VMI areas using 5S practices.
• Provide professional customer service and respond to customer or management questions.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required protective equipment.

Required Skills

• At least 1 year of warehouse, inventory, material handling, or delivery experience.
• Inventory counting and inventory control skills.
• Ability to accurately stock, organize, and track materials.
• Familiarity with barcode scanners and inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; job description also notes occasional handling of up to 75 lbs.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures and warehouse environments.
• Steel-toe shoes required.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
