ABOUT HFNY
For over 30 years, Hope for New York (HFNY) has served as New York’s Coalition of Hope, bringing nonprofits, churches, and everyday New Yorkers together to show kindness and compassion to their neighbors in need. Our Coalition of Hope strengthens nonprofits, leaders, and communities on the frontlines with resources and connections that shatter scarcity and amplify impact. HFNY invests in a diverse array of community-based nonprofits by providing grants, training, hands‑on support, and volunteers to 70+ vetted, faith‑based nonprofits across the five boroughs — building up their capacity to lead with excellence and serve more New Yorkers in need. We offer thousands of volunteer opportunities for individuals, workplaces, and churches — working closely with our nonprofit partners to ensure New Yorkers not only bring hope to their neighbors in need, but tangibly experience it too.ABOUT THE ROLE
HFNY seeks a galvanizing, relationship‑driven, and strategically courageous individual to serve as Manager of Program Partnerships. This role is the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of 16–20 HFNY affiliate nonprofit partners, serving not just as a steward of those relationships, but as an active consulting partner: one who brings ideas, challenges assumptions, and works alongside affiliate leaders to unlock growth, expand impact, and solve hard problems. A core focus of this role — in partnership with the broader Program team — is expanding HFNY's coalition through new affiliate partners, as the primary driver of reaching more New Yorkers in need. That means identifying, vetting, and onboarding organizations that extend HFNY's reach, while also deepening the impact of current partners and contributing to pathways for growth across the network. The Manager of Program Partnerships is not a passive relationship manager; they are a proactive champion for what's possible, working collaboratively across the team to move the coalition forward. This role sits within the Program team, reporting to the Senior Director, Programs, and works closely with the Director of Grants and Capacity Building Programs, the Manager of Collective Action, and the broader HFNY staff.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Affiliate Relationship Management (40%) This role is the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of HFNY affiliate partners — building deep, trusted, and action‑oriented partnerships in close coordination with the Program team. Responsibilities include: Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of 20–25 HFNY affiliate partners, maintaining consistent communication and meaningful touchpoints throughout the year Conduct annual partnership planning meetings to co‑develop goals, identify needs, and align HFNY resources — and follow through with accountability throughout the year in coordination with the broader team Go beyond relationship maintenance: actively bring ideas, challenge partners to think bigger, and serve as a strategic thought partner who consults on program design, organizational challenges, and growth opportunities Assess affiliate health, program quality, and volunteer engagement through HFNY's rubric‑based evaluation process; translate rubric findings into concrete, actionable coaching and development plans Connect affiliates to HFNY's full ecosystem of resources — grants, capacity building, volunteer matching, peer learning, and collective action initiatives Maintain up-to-date affiliate records and data across HFNY systems (Salesforce, Asana, and other platforms) Identify affiliates with unmet potential and proactively surface opportunities to the Program team around expansion, program deepening, or new collaborative initiatives New Partner Development & Expansion (25%) A key focus of this role is growing HFNY's coalition by identifying, vetting, and onboarding new affiliate partners — expanding the reach and depth of the network in alignment with HFNY's strategic priorities. Responsibilities include: Lead the vetting and onboarding of new affiliate partners: conduct organizational assessments, site visits, and mission alignment reviews for prospective affiliates; shepherd approved organizations through the onboarding process Cultivate a robust pipeline of prospective affiliates through proactive outreach, inbound referrals, and relationship development across NYC's nonprofit and faith‑based networks In collaboration with the Program team, identify gaps in HFNY's current coalition — geographic coverage, issue area underrepresentation, population reach — and develop targeted outreach strategies to address them Screen and prioritize prospective partners based on HFNY's affiliate criteria, mission alignment, and coalition‑wide strategic needs Maintain and nurture relationships with prospective partners not yet ready to join, keeping them engaged and connected to HFNY's network Contribute to developing new collective action incubators around key issue areas — bringing together prospective and current partners around shared resources, infrastructure, and coordinated service delivery Develop new strategic external partnerships annually that strengthen HFNY's affiliate pipeline and extend HFNY's presence in underrepresented communities or issue areas Track and report on new affiliate pipeline metrics, onboarding progress, and early‑stage partner health in collaboration with the Program team Program & Coalition Initiatives (25%) Beyond individual affiliate relationships, this role contributes to the shared programs and systems that strengthen HFNY's coalition as a whole — supporting the Program team across grantmaking, capacity building, and network‑wide collaboration. Responsibilities include: Inform the annual grant review process by bringing deep organizational knowledge of portfolio affiliates — surfacing qualitative context, relationship history, and program nuance that strengthens the team's collective assessment and decision‑making Support the grant application process by helping affiliates understand what strong submissions look like and ensuring the team has the contextual understanding needed to evaluate applications accurately and fairly Monitor mid‑year and year‑end grant reporting within assigned portfolio; share organizational context and relationship insights with the team to support accurate interpretation of partner progress and outcomes Contribute to the design and delivery of capacity‑building programming alongside the Program team — including learning labs, cohorts, and convenings — through facilitation, content co‑creation, and logistics support Support affiliate participation in HFNY's collective action initiatives (Hunger Collective, Youth Collective) and other network‑wide programs, in coordination with the Manager of Collective Action Contribute to planning and execution of HFNY network events, including the annual Nonprofit Partner Convening and other affiliate‑facing gatherings Provide input to organizational strategy, including affiliate growth priorities, issue area development, and continuous improvement of HFNY's programs and processes Affiliate Engagement & Communications (10%) This role plays a key part in keeping HFNY's affiliate network informed, resourced, and connected — maintaining the communication channels and shared resources that help partners thrive. Responsibilities include: Manage and distribute a regular affiliate email newsletter, curating relevant updates, resources, opportunities, and network news to keep partners engaged and informed Maintain and develop HFNY's affiliate knowledge base — a centralized resource hub with tools, templates, best practices, and program information that affiliates can access year‑round Administer and moderate HFNY's affiliate Google Group, ensuring it functions as an active, useful channel for peer communication, resource sharing, and network‑wide announcements Identify and source relevant external resources, trainings, and funding opportunities to share with the affiliate network on an ongoing basis Gather feedback from affiliates on communication and resource needs, and iterate on tools and channels to ensure they remain useful and well‑usedJOB QUALIFICATIONS

We are motivated by our Christian faith: Our desire to serve the city and seek the flourishing of every New Yorker is based on the Christian call to love and provide for our neighbors in need. We love our city: New York City is one of the most diverse and vibrant cities in the world, yet it is also full of brokenness, injustice, and inequality. Our work is motivated by our desire to see our city renewed and restored. We care about the whole person: We believe that true flourishing can only happen when an individual's spiritual, social, and economic needs are met, and we work with partners who seek the same outcome. We can't do this work alone: Fostering community and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do because we know that we are more effective when we work together. Our role is to catalyze the success of all of our partners. We build relationships based on trust: Trust is essential to creating authentic, thriving, and lasting relationships, which empowers our partners to achieve their goals. We are innovative and data‑driven: Solving hard problems often requires taking risks and trying new things. We use data to measure outcomes and inform decisions, which is critical to maximizing impact.DISCLAIMER
