Procurement Specialist: Packaging, Labeling & 3rd Party Purchased Finished Goods We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier performance for packaging, labeling, and 3rd‑party purchased finished goods. The packaging & label categories have approximately $8 million in annual expenditures. This role owns the end-to-end procurement process—from packaging sourcing strategy and supplier management through purchase order placement, order tracking, and ensuring on‑time delivery to support operations. This role also supports the OHP business segment in procuring 3rd‑party finished goods from our supply partners. We are comfortable working cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams and bring a practical, execution‑focused mindset to a manufacturing environment. This position is located at our Axis, AL chemical manufacturing plant and reports to the Director of Procurement. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for packaging and labeling with a focus on cost, service, risk mitigation, and supply continuity Responsible for Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) procurement processes of Finished Goods Lead RFx events, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and manage supplier agreements as required Responsible for purchase order placement, tracking of open purchase orders, and proactively manage suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery Resolve delivery issues, shortages, and discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and internal teams Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, and service, and drive supplier corrective actions where needed Lead supplier qualification and approval for new and alternate suppliers, and support packaging, labeling, and specification changes Partner with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain on new product launches, packaging changes, and supply initiatives Manage and develop one direct report that is responsible for supporting packaging procurement activities Maintain accurate pricing, lead times, and supplier data in the ERP and sourcing systems Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 6+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in packaging, labeling, or finished goods Experience with PO placement, order tracking, and supplier management in a manufacturing or operations environment Familiarity with supplier qualification, specifications, and quality & regulatory considerations Strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills Proficiency with ERP systems and sourcing platforms Microsoft Word; Excel; Teams Excellent written and verbal communications skills Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen and background check BENEFITS OFFERED TO OUR EMPLOYEES & FAMILIES: Exceptional Health insurance plans including Medical (PPO), Dental, Vision with low out-of-pocket costs Life Insurance; Disability insurance – company paid Health Savings Account (HSA) / Flexible Spending Account (FSA) available 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer matching Employee Stock Purchasing Plan (ESPP) with employee discount (NYSE: AVD) Vacation / Holiday pay We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
