Founded in 1991, Testa Produce, Inc. is the successor entity to the original Dominick Testa and Sons. The members of the Testa Family own Testa Produce, Inc. with the controlling interest currently held by Peter Testa. Testa Produce's roots date back to 1912, with founder Dominick Testa selling stalks of celery door-to-door out of a basket. The creation of the Chicago Terminal Produce Market provided a central selling location for years. As the restaurant industry evolved, so did Testa Produce. In 2011, Testa expanded yet again and moved into its new home: a 91,300 square foot facility to accommodate an ever-growing list of restaurant, hotel and food service customers. Essential Functions Load trucks, trailers, and containers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand Verify outgoing shipments against documentation (bills of lading, invoices, packing slips) Properly stack, secure, and arrange products to prevent damage during transport to ensure proper palletization of product, including heavier products on the bottom and separation of allergen and iced product. Secure and wrap pallets by hand or with wrapping machines to ensure product stability during transport and storage Check the temperature of trucks before loading to ensure compliance with company and food safety standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety regulations Report damages, shortages, or quality issues to supervisors Operate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in accordance with company and OSHA standards Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure accurate order fulfillment Competencies, Education, and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent At least 1 year of recent and successful experience performing the above functions in a significant manufacturing or warehouse/distribution environment.
