NC DHHS AWS/Java Developer

Job Summary (List Format):
- Work as an AWS/Java developer with 8-10 years of software development experience.
- Collaborate closely with data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions.
- Build and manage enterprise-level Data Lakes using AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena, etc.).
- Develop software using Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework, and Hibernate technologies.
- Modernize applications through refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
- Migrate and modernize database systems, with experience in transactional/RDMS databases.
- Create AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines to handle high volumes of data.
- Use DevOps practices and automation tools for streamlined development and deployment.
- Participate in code reviews, uphold security best practices, and maintain clean code.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
- Gather requirements and propose modernization strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Work with product managers, business stakeholders, and team members to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
- Optionally, work with data analytics tools like Power BI or AWS QuickSight.
- Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- AWS Certification and state government experience are desirable but not required.
