Job Description:


- Shift: 07:00-19:00
- Location: 10 Tower, NSD Building, Main Building
- Unit Details:
- Number of Beds: 30 (22 Acute Care, 8 Stepdown)
- Patient Ratios: 6:1 on Acute Care, 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
- Staffing:
- 1 RN Charge overseeing the entire 10 Tower
- 1-2 Techs and a Unit Secretary
- Equipment Include:
- Acute Care: Vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, all things stroke
- Neuro Stepdown: Vapotherm, BiPAP, Trachs, titrating cardiac drips
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements:
- Weekends required
- Floating policy for experienced nurses after orientation
- Patient Experience Focus:
- Bedside shift report
- Personal connection with patients
- Daily huddle
- Certifications Required:
- BLS for Acute Care
- BLS and ACLS for Neuro Stepdown
- Requested Skill Set:
- Must have strong acute care nursing skills and exceptional time management
- Stepdown experience highly desired
- Advanced critical thinking skills
- Common Procedures:
- Lumbar puncture
- Chest tube placement
- Dress Code:
- Black, any shade of blue or grey, and any color scrubs on Fridays
- Unit Guidelines/Policies: Specific policies and guidelines provided during onboarding
