Data Center Operator / System Technician - Night Shift

As a Data Center Operator supporting various health programs, you will be trusted to work on monitoring mainframe and mid-range systems as well as disaster recovery. This role will be in Rensselaer, NY. Training will be during the day for the first 1-2 months and then move to the night shift. Shift differential is offered for night shift positions !

HOW A DATA CENTER OPERATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Providing monitoring, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems, applications, and related peripheral hardware Performing all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedules Keeping the task manager informed of any unusual conditions or problems encountered in the performance of daily duties Monitoring of systems and networks within the HPCMP Enterprise utilizing Unix/Linux workstations. Windows systems may also be used in various tasks. Using a variety of interactive tools and processes to determine the health of systems and networks by performing all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedules Generating trouble tickets for tier 2 and 3 support. May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists. Maintaining and updating record and tracking databases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma/GED; AND 1 or more years of experience (equivalent education in lieu of experience) required ; 2 or more years of related experience with Mainframe applications (ZEEK, ZEBB, SA, CA and/or IBM products) in an operations team environment preferred Demonstrated Enterprise IT experience Demonstrated experience utilizing an ITSM tool such as ServiceNow Ability and willingness to work any overnight shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM) Intermediate experience working with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Exposure to or ability to learn JCL, ATL (Automated Tape Libraries), and tape media. Ability and willingness to obtain a Full BI background investigation clearance US Citizenship Required
