Winter 26/27: Certified Adult Ski School Instructor - Full Time

Location: Frisco, Colorado Job Title: Certified Adult Ski School Instructor Job Status: Seasonal Job Summary We are looking for PSIA level 1+2+3 Ski instructors! Seasonal positions begin in December and end mid‑April. Must be at least 18 years old, available to work weekends and holidays, and have at least one season of teaching experience. The position will primarily work with adult students ages 18+ but may also teach youth programs ages 3‑17 as needed. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $21.00 to $27.00+, adjusted based on experience. Benefits: Seasonal employee eligible for a season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at other resorts. Discount programs available (food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the best possible experience for Copper Mountain guests individually and as part of the resort mission. Lead group classes focusing on individual engagement and progression. Instill confidence in students’ skiing ability, providing an unsurpassed mountain vacation experience daily. Maintain safety by weaving safety culture into teaching—asking safety questions and using terrain to promote safe movement. Identify learning styles and adapt teaching styles accordingly. Understand beginner ski progressions for different age levels and demonstrate them to the class. Identify student ability levels and divide them into appropriate groups. Engage the class 100% of the time while addressing individual student needs; adjust lesson plans as needed. Model Copper Mountain values, philosophy, and mission; inspire guests with memorable experiences. Cooperate with all employees, including instructors, supervisors, and other departments. Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, maintaining composure and keeping students and staff safe. Manage personal stress and maintain work–life balance. Supervise children in class; assist at lunch/snack times; ensure return to guardians. Assist with operational responsibilities of Ski & Ride programs (registration, equipment fitting, upkeep of teaching areas, cleanliness). Follow Copper Mountain Resort’s Standards of Business Conduct and handbook policies. Assist other departments (Events/Competitions, Lift Operations) as needed. Performance Objectives Develop rapid rapport with students, learning names and welcoming new students warmly. Focus on safety, weaving it into every lesson. Adapt teaching style to students’ learning preferences. Demonstrate beginner progressions for all age and ability levels. Maintain continuous student engagement and adapt plans when necessary. Represent Copper Mountain’s values and inspire guests. Cooperate effectively with all departments. Handle emergencies calmly and maintain student safety. Balance work and personal life while managing stress. Ensure proper supervision and safe return of children to guardians. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of teaching areas. Other Duties as Assigned The responsibilities of this position may change with the evolution of the Ski & Ride programs.
