Wastewater Operator Sewer Department

The Town of Grafton seeks a highly motivated individual to join its team as a Wastewater Operator. The position requires participation in the operation and maintenance of the towns 2.4 mgd. wastewater treatment facility and collection system including 15 remote pump stations.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the operation inspection and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant
• Transporting sludge to the Upper Blackstone facility
• Collecting daily samples and performing lab analysis
• Pump station monitoring
• Performance of diagnostic testing
• Conduct inflow and infiltration inspection
• Attending continuing education seminars to stay up to date of safety regulations and other best practices.

Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma at least one year of related experience or any equivalent combination of education training certification or experience. A valid class-B CDL drivers license is preferred. The successful applicants must have a Grade 4-M Wastewater Operators License or be able to obtain one within six months of being hired.

Applicants must be able to work in a self-directed environment and participate in a rotating on-call schedule of nights weekends and holidays. This is a 40 hour per week non-union position with a salary range of $50700 - $56000 (Grade 3 with no License Grade 4 with it)
