Accounting Assistant

This role supports the accounting department of a complex, multi-entity organization, where balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines are essential. Success in this position comes from being highly organized, proactive and committed to accuracy. The right person catches errors and inconsistencies before anyone else points them out and takes the initiative to resolve or flag them right away. What You'll Do

• Enter daily bank transactions for each company into QuickBooks
• Enter physical and electronic bills for each company into bill.com
• Receive client payments and apply them to the correct invoices
• Manage accounts receivable, including monitoring aging reports, following up on overdue accounts, and maintaining positive client relationships
• Prepare a daily cash report for each entity, summarizing daily activity and expected cash inflows and outflows over the next 10 days.
• Respond promptly to internal and external communications, and follow up without being asked
• Maintain physical and digital filing systems for client and vendor paperwork
• Retrieve, open, sort, and distribute mail
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must work on-site in Lincoln, NE

Compensation & Benefits

·         Pay: Starting at $18.00/hour

• Schedule: 30 to 40 hours per week
• Paid time off (FTEs)
