Minimum Relevant ExperienceInformation System Security EngineerPosition Description:An Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of an organization’s IS/IA architecture, system, or system components. They ensure that IA related Information Security (IS) will be functional and secure. They define IA requirements that provide for the Government's assessment and authorization process of an IT system. They provide systems, security engineering, integration services, technical assessments, and solutions. This includes analyzing the IA/IS environment(s), helping customers understand information security needs, defining system security requirements, designing system security architectures, developing, and implementing detailed security designs and measures to safeguard information, and assessing information protection effectiveness.Duties:The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) is part of the system engineering process used to address users’ IT protection needs. The ISSE is responsible for:· Ensuring that the defined cybersecurity solutions are effective and meet all cybersecurity requirements identified by the Authorizing Official.· Ensuring that new information systems are designed and developed with appropriate cybersecurity features and safeguards as outlined in DOJ and Component policies.· Ensuring that information system enhancements for all information systems being upgraded provide equivalent or enhanced effectiveness of the existing cybersecurity features and remain consistent with DOJ and Component policies.· Following the cybersecurity requirements of all applicable policies, standards, and directives.· Assisting in the identification of the information systems cybersecurity requirements.· Assisting in the development and implementation of the information system security design.· Supporting the Information System Owner in the preparation of the Security Authorization documentation.· Performing cybersecurity reviews in support of information system integration and cybersecurity configuration in preparation for control assessment testing.· Assisting the Information System Owner in the development of the initial Risk Assessment during the Concept Development phase.· Assisting in the development and review of the certification test plans and observing certification testing on behalf of the ISSO as appropriate.· Coordinating cybersecurity related issues with the ISSO; and Notifying the ISSO of any cybersecurity relevant changes that may affect the information system security design.Requirements:· Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Systems Engineering or related field, equivalent work experience or equivalent educational and/or qualifications and ten years of documented relevant work experience performing any combination of experience · Minimum of eight (8) years of experience supporting the above described ISSE duties/responsibilities (see below for experience substitutions)· Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret, if requestedExperience substitutions: Certificates under the DoD IAM, IAT, IASAE, or CSSP Levels II or III may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of relevant experience.· CSSLP, CASP, CEH· Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)· CISM – Certified Information Security Manager· CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professionalo Architecture (CISSP-ISSAP)o Engineering (CISSP-ISSEP)o Management (CISSP-ISSMP)· SANS Institute GIAC Certifications:o GISF– Information Security Fundamentalso GCED – Certified Enterprise Defendero GISP – Information Security ProfessionalAbout NTT DATANTT DATA is a $30 billion trusted global innovator of business and technology services.
