Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate the substance abuse history and mental health status of clients.

  • Developing personalized, comprehensive treatment plans that address not only addiction but also underlying issues such as trauma or mental health disorders.

  • Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions that employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.

  • Actively collaborating with fellow team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and peer support specialists, to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to care.

  • Educating and involving clients' families in the recovery process, offering guidance and resources to foster a supportive home environment.

  • Maintaining meticulous records of client interactions and treatment progress in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily centers around individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Many of our clients may also face co-occurring mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression. You will support a diverse client base, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Your efforts will directly contribute to positive client outcomes, enabling individuals to reclaim their lives and thrive after addiction.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid and active license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD.
  • \n
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of addiction counseling principles and evidence-based practices for substance abuse treatment.

  • Exceptional therapeutic and counseling skills with a proven ability to engage and motivate clients in their recovery journey.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with specialized training or experience in addiction counseling, particularly with co-occurring disorders, will be strongly preferred. Prior experience working in a telehealth setting is also advantageous, as it will enhance your ability to connect effectively with clients in a virtual environment.
