Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II trauma medical center, requiring 2+ years of RRT experience.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Care unit of a 324-bed medical center offering Level II trauma care and 24-hour emergency services
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6 on, 8 off schedule running Wednesday through Monday
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience required
• Active RRT certification through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Michigan RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications through the American Heart Association
• Skills checklist pertinent to Respiratory Therapy, current within 1 year, required for consideration
• Two completed supervisory reference forms within the last two years required for consideration
• Compact license not accepted

Additional Information

• Administer medications, perform therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system, independently or in consultation with a physician
• Deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers
• Respond immediately to Rapid Responses, arrests, or STAT situations, maintaining artificial airways and providing respiration and cardiac compressions
• Set up and maintain oxygen delivery according to protocol
• Previous travel work experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted
