RN - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Plantation, Florida

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM with on-call requirements approximately every other day and every other weekend

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate health care services for patients before, during and after surgical procedures
• Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery and necessary equipment and medications are available for the operating room team
• Record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures and ensure proper handling of specimens
• Provide quality control and ensure patient safety at all times
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver exceptional cardiovascular care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida or compact license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years current experience in acute CVOR setting
• Experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker procedures preferred
• Ability to function well independently in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Open Heart instrumentation and supplies
• TEE equipment and Ultrasound
• Meditech documentation system
• Minimally invasive cardiac procedures experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and sterile technique
