Night Shift Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Join Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MoBap) as a Night Shift Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) and bring your strong Medical/Surgical and Telemetry expertise to a flexible growth-focused role. Designed for experienced nurses who thrive at night this position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality patient-centered care across multiple inpatient units. Float Pool RNs must be comfortable working in different clinical environmentsincluding occasional mid-shift transitionsto support patient care needs. Youll also have the opportunity to expand your skills through cross-training in ICU and the Emergency Department all while working within a collaborative tight-knit night shift team.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of acute care Med/Surg RN experience (required)
• Ability to thrive in a flexible float environment
• Strong adaptability in variable clinical environments
• BSN preferred, ADN accepted if enrolled in a BSN program
• Initial 1st week will be a 5 day full-time training commitment to support your success

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center an acute care hospital in St. Louis County offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services including heart care cancer women and infants breast health gastrointestinal orthopedic stroke therapy wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Childrens Hospital.

The Patient Care Resource Team (Float Pool) is a team of highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurses and Patient Care Technicians who are flexible and versatile while supporting various areas within the hospital.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment diagnosis planning implementation and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops implements and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical psychosocial and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care including their values emotional spiritual cultural and population-specific needs.
