Job Title

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management, and Budget, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Budget, Finance, Grants and Acquisitions, Office of Financial Management, in Washington, D.C. or Denver, CO

Major Duties

At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Manages day-to-day financial operations of Program Audit Coordination. Ensures the accuracy of DOI Program Audit Coordination follow-up with Bureaus and Offices, including coordination of responding to GAO and OIG recommendations.
2. Manages program audit coordination follow-up for DOI Bureaus, ensuring timely response and implementation of recommendations by OIG and GAO.
3. Develops and enforces internal control policies and financial management guidance in compliance with Federal statutes and OMB Circulars.
4. Identifies and tracks recommendations advising Bureau and Office leadership on risk mitigation and compliance strategies.
5. Directs division operations, including supervision of subordinate supervisors, strategic planning, and program execution.

The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and may be allowed with supervisory approval.

Salary Range Information (Per Annum): First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.

GS-15 (Step 1) $169,279- (Step 10) $197,200 (Denver-Aurora, CO locality) (Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA locality)
