Director of Nursing

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to our residents. The Director of Nursing is responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervising nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive environment focused on resident safety, quality of care, and staff development. The Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs. Monitor the quality of resident care and ensure nursing services are provided according to established standards and care plans. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. Participate in hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development of nursing staff. Review and monitor resident assessments, care plans, documentation, and clinical records. Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Monitor infection prevention and control practices and promote a safe and healthy environment. Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Respond to clinical concerns, emergencies, and changes in resident condition as needed. Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage nursing department schedules. Promote effective communication and teamwork among nursing and other facility departments. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Support survey readiness and address any identified areas of concern. Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. Previous nursing leadership or management experience preferred. Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or senior care experience preferred. Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and quality standards. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with residents, families, employees, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
