In this highly visible, hands-on position, you'll drive the design, build, installation, and debugging of cutting-edge mechanical process equipment for glass manufacturing. Responsibilities


- Lead detailed mechanical design of handling and process equipment using SolidWorks
- Execute hands-on build, installation, start-up, and debugging of machinery in manufacturing settings
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure quality throughout equipment development and delivery
- Oversee mechanical and electrical trades during equipment installation and troubleshooting
- Conduct FEA analysis and ensure adherence to safety standards including OSHA compliance
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations) to deliver project success
- Verify equipment build and layout against technical drawings and resolve discrepancies
- Travel domestically (up to 25%) for equipment check-out, vendor engagement, and on-site support at plant locations


Required Skills and Experience


- Minimum 7 years' experience in mechanical equipment design for manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and structural FEA analysis
- Demonstrated success in hands-on installation, start-up, and debugging of industrial mechanical equipment
- Strong vendor management and mechanical/electrical trade coordination
- In-depth knowledge of machine safety practices and standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


Preferred Skills


- Experience with glass manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with advanced automation and controls integration
