Electronics Engineer III

Job Summary Position: Hardware Engineer – LE2 Program, Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM). Location: Cape Canaveral, FL. This role requires onsite full‑time work with a flexible 9x80 schedule; no relocation services are provided. The position is contingent upon a program award expected in September 2026. Key Responsibilities Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the U.S. Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program. Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of automated test systems, including data review and trending. Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems. Interface with suppliers, customers and internal design teams to provide cost‑effective and low‑risk solutions. Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers. Support Failure Review Board activities through closure. Mentor junior engineers and interface extensively with customers and senior leadership. Create and update project/process documentation that aligns to project requirements. Travel and work at alternate work sites as required, less than 25% of the time. Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in design and test of electrical hardware. Hardware development experience. Experience with interconnect design. Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement). Issue tracking experience. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Experience with Creo, Windchill, Zuken, PSpice. Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or similar systems. Experience leading project teams and development efforts. Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrated test systems, with experience as subject matter engineer or equivalent. Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation. Experience troubleshooting system‑level issues.
