Job Description\n MetaSense, Inc. is seeking a travel Pharmacist for a travel job in Brooklyn, New York.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Pharmacist\n Discipline: Allied Health Professional\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 12 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Qualifications :Education:\n • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, required.Experience:\n • Minimum one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience.Knowledge and Skills:\n • Ability to communication in English, both verbally and in writing.\n • Knowledge of computers and word processing skills.Licenses, Certifications:\n • New York State Pharmacy license and current registration.\n Physical Requirements:\n • Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing and bending.\n • May include some repetitive motions.\n • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising patient care.Overview :\n Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Supervisor, and according to Federal and State laws compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written prescriptions from physician.Responsibilities\n • Under general supervision and according to hospital policies and the laws of New York State: compounds and dispenses medications and supplies to patients and other professionals.\n • Interprets and evaluates physician's orders to prepare, calculate and dispense appropriate medication and medication dosage forms.\n • Communicates with prescribes and nursing personnel according to intervention procedure to clarify or change orders that are unclear, illegible, incomplete or questionable.\n • Recommends changes in drug therapy when needed.\n • Documents intervention activities.\n • Insures resolution of identified problems.\n • Accurately prepares labels and dispenses medications to all areas of the hospital in accordance with all policies, laws and regulations.\n • Accurately enter medication orders into the computer.\n • Reviews, maintains and screens medication profiles for allergies, food/drug interactions, drug/drug; interactions, and therapeutic duplications.\n • Provides information on the contents, therapeutic actions, interactions and possible adverse reactions of medication to the physicians, nurses and patients of the hospital.\n • Compounds and labels I.V. admixtures, chemotherapies and parenteral nutrition solutions according to established procedures.\n • Supervises and checks the work of the Technicians and Aide in both sterile and non-sterile medication work areas.\n • Dispenses controlled substances in accordance with al applicable regulations.\n • Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel.\n • Participates in educational programs both inside and outside the department as required by law.\n • Performs and documents monthly medication area inspections.\n • Works in all service areas of the department.\n • Demonstrate knowledge and competence in the consideration of patient age as a factor in dose calculation for the neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient.\n • Performs other assigned duties as may be necessary for the quality assurance and performance improvement programs of the department.\n • Attends and participates in committee meetings and functions requires by the hospital..\n • Performs other duties as may be needed to assure the maintenance of optimal patient care services.\n MetaSense, Inc.
