Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Telemetry (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care within a Med Surg (Medical-Surgical) unit located in Cudahy, Wisconsin. The position involves caring for a diverse patient population, primarily geriatric, with diagnoses including post-operative orthopedic, urological, general surgical, and medical conditions such as CHF, COPD, and other chronic illnesses. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM or 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week; scheduled in 6-week cycles, released approximately 3 weeks prior to the start date; every other weekend rotation; on-call availability for low census periods up to 36 hours per contract; 50% holiday coverage per contract.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification; ACLS preferred; minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience; experience with patient types including orthopedic, urological, and general surgery; EMR experience with EPIC preferred; familiarity with Med Surg equipment such as IV pumps, monitors, and bedside devices.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, experience with EMR systems, and inpatient telemetry care.
• Skills and Responsibilities: Management of patient diagnoses including chest tube and drain care, wound care, central line and port blood draws, cardiac rhythm interpretation, as well as assisting with ambulation and patient ADLs; removal of peripheral IVs; support staff assistance with vitals, I/O, and blood sugar checks; experience with patient types especially orthopedic patients is preferred.
• Support and Equipment: Support from Charge RN, hospitalist services available 24/7, telemonitoring, EMR: EPIC (experience preferred), equipment including IV pumps, monitors, ceiling lifts, and virtual monitoring tools.
• Float: May float to other Med Surg units or hospital areas, including ER hold or ICU, though will primarily take Med Surg patients.
• Orientation: One 12-hour shift on the unit to learn workflows and processes.
• Scrub Color: Any solid, professional color without graphics, logos, or denim.
• Parking: Free employee parking.
