The Rheumatology/Gastroenterology (Portfolio) Health & Science Specialist is responsible for launching new products, determining optimal strategies to manage business relationships, understanding formulary access, and engaging in product promotion within assigned accounts. In addition, the specialist conducts sales efforts and develops relationships with assigned customers, including Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Role Responsibilities Identify and implement the most efficient virtual/in‑person engagement strategies tailored to each customer to maximize effectiveness and impact. Design and adapt business and territory call plans based on opportunities and insights. Build rapport and relationships with customers in virtual and face‑to‑face settings, maintaining a methodical approach toward call objectives, documenting next steps, and managing KPIs using digital tools such as Veeva Engage, Zoom, and Microsoft Office. Deliver relevant, targeted messaging through approved materials to drive product demand and influence prescribing behavior, while leveraging account priorities for positive business outcomes. Educate providers on unbranded and branded product value propositions for relevant patient populations, utilizing approved disease‑state information. Plan customer engagements in multiple formats, coordinate with HCPs and office staff, and deploy approved Pfizer resources (samples, vouchers, co‑pay resources, patient education) to support provider and patient needs. Provide HCPs with information on reimbursement, the Patient Assistant Program (PAP), Pfizer hub programs, and co‑pay resources. Present terms of sale or existing contract terms with approved language, answer on‑label questions, and introduce customers to future‑state platforms such as Galaxy. Collaborate compliantly with cross‑functional colleagues, including Field Medical, Reimbursement, and Key Account Management, to address customer inquiries and advance Pfizer objectives. Use calendaring tools, leadership goals, and personal insights to prioritize calls and bring customer survey insights to leadership for continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing, promotional, or sales roles, with demonstrated leadership in a specialized market involving third‑party reimbursement. Strong history of marketing, promotional, or sales success, territory management, communication, teamwork, leadership, and accountability. Residency within 50 miles of the territory. Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record; any DUI/DWI within the past 7 years disqualifies the candidate. Preferred Qualifications 3–5 years of specialty marketing, promotional, or sales experience. In‑depth knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products. Strong understanding of customers and markets, including prescribers, HCPs, institutions, and organizations. Strategic account marketing, promotional, sales, and management skills. Superior marketing, promotional, sales, technical, and relationship‑building abilities. Track record of assessing account needs and delivering relevant resources to drive performance. Excellent business acumen, problem‑solving, strategic thinking, data analytics, project management, planning, and prioritization skills. Ability to engage, influence, and support customers throughout the marketing, promotional, and sales process with exceptional communication and leadership skills. Rapid learning and adaptation to new ways of working in a changing environment. Capability to work in a matrix environment and leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs. Experience working with key thought leaders or high‑influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations. Strong organizational and analytical skills to analyze sales data, call reports, and technology tools. Agile mindset and adaptability to workplace changes. Exceptional time management, planning, and organizing abilities. Non‑Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements Travel to all accounts and office locations within the territory. Must be willing to stay overnight if required by territory size or business needs. Other Information Last Day to Apply: May 28, 2026. Geography includes: Knoxville to Tri‑Cities (exclusive of Chattanooga). Work Location Assignment: Remote – Field Based. Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary ranges from $108,600 to $250,700. During initial new‑hire sales training, the specialist will be classified as a salary non‑exempt employee entitling them to overtime pay. Upon training certification, they will become an overtime‑exempt employee. The position offers an additional sales incentive bonus. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with Pfizer matching contributions, retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
