Job Title: Diag Cardiac Sonographer I-FT/Day Shift (Ben Taub Hospital) Location: Ben Taub Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center) Job Summary The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (DCS I) provides high quality cardiac ultrasound images, assesses myocardial function, records hemodynamic measurements, and visualizes blood flow using 2D, M-mode, color‑flow and spectral Doppler. The DCS I performs Exercise Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo, and assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs). The DCS establishes peripheral IV access, administers ultrasound‑enhancing agents per protocol, and presents findings in written, oral, or visual form. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a CAHEP accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program. Regulated Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification through ARDMS or CCI within 6 months of hire, if not already held. Basic Life Support certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program. Other certificates as required by unit or service. Preferred Experience Two (2) years of hospital or clinical experience. Communication Skills Above average verbal communication, heavy public contact.
