Food Safety Quality Technician

Job Description

Cardinal Staffing has a direct hire opportunity for FOOD SAFETY QUALITY TECHNICIAN on 1st and 3rd shift. Job Summary: Food Safety - Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for guaranteeing the quality and food safety of our products and services. Responsibilities:

1. Verify that we are producing a SAFE and HIGH-QUALITY product
2. Verify employees follow all plant GMP's.
3. Verify that product specifications and food safety standards are being followed at all times.
4. Complete all necessary daily paperwork.
5. Communicate with Quality Director, Food Safety Manager and/or QA supervisor on how line is running, and every time there are deviations.
6. Communicate with line operators and supervisors on quality and food safety standards during production.
7. Perform any laboratory work or product inspections required
8. Shipping/Receiving inspections and releases. This includes raw material inspection, dry goods, trailer inspections and returns.
9. Conduct Daily SSOP, HACCP, GMP, and SQF monitoring activities
10. Stop production or place product on hold when the department is not meeting quality or food safety requirements
11. This is a Backup to this position is other QA techs
12. Pull samples customer specifications.
13. Conduct Temperature and Equipment Calibrations
14. Perform titrations for ozone, PAA, Quat, Chlorine or other sanitizers
15. Perform product and label inspections
16. Able to complete quality or food safety investigations and complete appropriate documentation
17. Able to take and perform Corrective Action and Preventative Measure, Communication, Documentation and Verification of the CAPA
18. Conduct and perform aseptic techniques for carcasses, products or environmental swabbing
19. Conduct and document product and ambient temperature monitoring activities
20. Perform pre-op and operational equipment inspections
21. Perform sanitizer or sterilizer verification

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to work in variable room temperatures 10 F - 100 F.
2. Occasionally may need lift up to 40 lbs, support can be provided as needed.
3. Eligible for weekend coverage

Work Environment:

1. 90% time will be on production floor, 10% will be working in the office, lab or on the computer

• Exposure to cold temperatures, wet floors, moving equipment, and industrial noise may occur.
