Job Description Interventional radiologic technologist assists physicians with image‑guided minimally invasive procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. They provide the highest quality of care by treating a wide range of conditions using catheters, wires, and imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The technologist maintains sterile technique, operates equipment, ensures quality imaging, and delivers compassionate patient care. Responsibilities Report directly to the Vascular and Interventional Radiology RT Supervisor and collaborate with the interventional radiologist, RN, and other team members. Obtain all equipment needed for a procedure. Position and image patients during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Resolve equipment issues and demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation (fluoroscopy, US, ancillary therapeutic devices). Prepare, administer, and document contrast media throughout the procedure. Corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure details and ensure accurate documentation for clinicians. Provide patient assessment, monitoring, and communication during procedures. Post‑process digital data for display or hard‑copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification. Perform periodic weekend and off‑hour call duties. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Minimum 1 year of independent experience in radiology. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS or equivalent). Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training. Effective team‑oriented communication skills. Familiarity with age‑specific criteria. Physical Requirements Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, and squatting. Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders and reach in all directions. Lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted; lift objects 15 lbs. from 36 in. to overhead or to floor. Maintain 20/40 vision, hearing acuity, and tactile sensory functions in a latex‑safe environment. Qualified for respirator use.
